EFFECT OF HUMAN RESOURCE COST ON PERFORMANCE OF QUOTED BREWERY FIRMS IN NIGERIA

This study examined the effect of human resource cost on the performance of quoted brewery firms in Nigeria. Data were extracted from annual reports and accounts of the sampled firms from 2009 to 2019. The formulated hypothesis was tested with regression analysis SPSS version 20.The result revealed that staff cost has a positive significant effect on the return on equity of quoted brewery firms could have strong positive effects on the financial performance of firms. Based on the findings, the study recommended that the chief accountant should educate and convince the stakeholders on the benefits accruing from capitalizing and reporting of human resource expenditure that is capital in nature as intangible assets in the statement of financial position.Downloads
